Unfortunately due to issues with staffing we have had to withdraw from producing a second copy of DAmn Fine at this moment in time. We do apologise for this but sadly with the current levels of staff and with all the other work we are currently involved with this project has been put on the back burner for now. However if you are still interested in collaborating with us we are currently seeking people to submit work to an exhibition we are holding in early December.

Secrets is an independently curated exhibition that will be held in Central London at the beginning of December 2008. This is an open call for everyone and anyone to submit their work for a chance to be included in the exhibition. Work must be centred on the theme of “Secrets”, and you are free to interpret this as you choose. Work must be submitted by Friday the 14th November 2008. Well things are finally starting to look up! We are now able to make Issue 2 All we require now is more submitees and some extra content and we are sorted So how about it? Would you like to be involved with the second issue of DAmn Fine Magazine? This is a great chance to turn this in to a huge collaborative project that incorporates as many different people within DeviantArt as possible, and we want to give people the oppurtunity to add something. We are looking for reviews on galleries, art exhibitions, artists, books, tutorial websites, as well as people to actually write a few tutorials as well If you are interested then please do send us a Note explaining what it is you wish to contribute and we will organise it for you (or at least try to). Please be aware that we aren't going to be able to include everyone's contributions but we will try to add in as many as possible.

As for submitting work... Please make sure to check out our FAQ. It outlines the submission processes and it is important that you follow them carefully. If you know of any artists that may be eligible for Issue 2 then by all means invite them to join in! The more the merrier!

The MEDIUMS for this issue are Photo Manipulation and Digital Painting
The GENRES for this issue are As Yet UnDecided We will probably not split Issue 2 up in to Genres to be honest. This means that as long as the work submitted matches the MEDIUMS then it has a good chance of being included. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch

Submission Process:

Issue 2's genres will be Photomanipulation and Digital Painting. We will be looking to showcase about 6 or 7 artists per Medium at this point in time. The Submission Process is very simple. If you are interested in submitting work to the magazine then please send us a note with as many as 10 deviations chosen from your gallery that you would like to see in the publication (please make sure that they match one of the two Mediums chosen for this issue). We will then put you on to the Submitters List for this issue, which will be found in the journal from now until the closing of the submission period. Once we get to the production stage the three editors of DAmn Fine, *jadalia ~snapr and *technosplat, will sit down together and select the individuals for each gallery. Do not worry if your work is not chosen! Everyone who submits work will be represented on a Submitters page in the magazine, and in our journal. So basically, even if you do not get chosen you still get free publicity. Everybody wins

The deadline for submission in this issue is the 23rd March 2008

PLEASE NOTE: We do have stipulations to submission. Anybody submitting work must have less then 10,000 pageviews on the day that we receive their submission. The whole point of this magazine is to showcase the work of people who go relatively unnoticed on DA. We are looking for the hidden gems. Sorry to discriminate against the veterans and the popular kids, but.. well... sucks to be you Anybody found to have more then 10,000 pageviews will be rejected and will not appear on the Submitters List. So it's not really worth wasting your time really.

We got to work with some truly fantastic people in the first issue, and we hope to have the same be true for the second. If anybody would like to get involved writing articles, writing reviews, collecting information, designing, anything at all, then PLEASE do get in touch.

Due to issues with university the team are currently WAY behind on the construction of issue 2, and for that we apologise. All we can say is that we have been swamped with work that we were seriously not expecting and just have no time to put together the second issue yet. Hopefully this issue will be resolved when ~snapr gets his new computer, as he will have more time to work on stuff at home. As it is at the moment he can only just about surf the web. LAME.

We apologise to all of you that submitted work for issue 2 so far, all we can say is that you will have to be patient. It will get made, it's just going to be a bit late...

Well the deadline has come for the second issue and sadly due to other commitments ~snapr has not been able to push the second issue as much as he would have liked. This means that unfortuantely not many people have submitted so far (a huge thank you to all of you that have though, you are stars ) This means that we will have to extend the submission period because at this point in time there are not enough submissions to make a magazine issue.
